Announcing Limitless Network partnership grant

We are pleased to announce that the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation has secured a $100,000 grant ($25,000 annually for the next four academic years) from Education First as a part of their ‘Limitless’ Postsecondary Enrollment Learning Network.

The grant will help drive collaborative efforts between Skagit Valley College, Oak Harbor Public Schools, and Sno-Isle Libraries with the goal of increasing higher education enrollment in the Oak Harbor School District.

The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation receives a $1.8 million bequest in support of the Snohomish Library

We are thrilled to announce that the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation has received an extraordinary $1.8 million bequest in support of the Snohomish Library. We are extremely grateful and humbled by the generosity of Snohomish philanthropists John and Betty Parks, whose legacy will have a profound impact on the Snohomish Library and benefit the entire community.

Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation provides free books for the Whidbey Pride Book & Resource Fair

In celebration of Pride Month, on Saturday, June 17, Sno-Isle Libraries hosted a Pride Book & Resource Fair at the South Whidbey Community Center in Langley. Visitors came by to make a rainbow craft, check out books, sign up for a library card, and choose free books to take home, courtesy of the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation. The fair, held in partnership with Readiness To Learn, a non-profit serving South Whidbey's youth and families, returns to the community center on Saturday, July 8, for Langley’s Pride Parade.

Sno-Isle Libraries program for third graders fosters a lifelong love of reading

Thank you to My Edmonds News for featuring Sno-Isle Libraries' Third Graders Read Together program in their June 7, 2023 issue!

"Third grade represents an important point in a child’s education. At this age, students shift from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” Interventions for struggling readers after third grade are seldom as effective as those in the early years. Since 2013, Sno-Isle Libraries has partnered with schools to support this important milestone by fostering a love of reading during this critical age."
